We charge a flat fee for initial testing—not just a free code scan, but actual electrical and mechanical testing to find the root cause. We set strict time boundaries and will never do unauthorized teardowns without your explicit permission.

Our goal is to triage your vehicle quickly so you know if it's safe to drive. Initial testing usually takes about an hour. If you have a deep electrical gremlin, we will stop, call you with an update, and give you a clear timeline before moving forward.

If the light is solid, you can usually drive it to the shop, though you shouldn't ignore it. However, if the check engine light is flashing, pull over immediately. A flashing light means a severe misfire that is actively destroying your engine or catalytic converter.

A used engine, a remanufactured engine, and in-car repairs all carry different coverage — and some warranties cover parts only, some cover labor, and some are backed by the shop directly.
